Week commencing 11th September, 2016

Nordic Walks week commencing 12th September, 2016.

Hi Nordic Walkers,
The picture this week was from last Friday’s POP UP walk where we walked from Bromham to Stevington windmill.  Thanks to all who joined us.

SEPTEMBER GOAL SETTING
September is the month for setting your health and fitness goals. Over the summer period we tend to get out of our routines when we go on holidays and/or have visitors.  We eat differently (and at different times) making it easier to gain weight.  September is a good month to set and commit to your new Health & Fitness goals as we tend to have less interruptions.

So lets get back into Nordic Walking regularly and also eating good nutritious food and I will support you all the way.  I am going to be sending out Recipe’s for you supplied by my good friend Tanya who many of you know, and who has travelled the world creating many wonderful dishes for the rich and famous. We will also be doing some Nordic challenges and longer walks too in the months running up to Christmas.  Yipee!

CAPABILITY BROWN
The last two events for the Capability Brown 300 Year celebrations are:
Friday 16th September at Parkside Hall, Ampthill is a hugely popular show by John Cobb who plays Capability Brown with entrancing tales from the life of ‘England’s greatest gardener’.  Tickets £10 from Hub café

Sunday 18th September is the last in a series of free guided tours of Ampthill Great Park. These are free and there is no need to book, just turn up between10am and 4pm.  Regular short or longer tours throughout the day with refreshments available.

POP UP FRIDAY WALK
Another Pop Up walk this week and this is a Beaut!  From Woburn Public car Park we will go through the Deer park towards the little lodge and sneak down a cutting in the woods to walk the footpath through the Safari Park where we will be right next to the Elephants and many other wonderful animals.  This walk is a favourite for many of our walkers and as it’s shorter than our usual 10 mile circuit, it is a fab way to get great exercise but not take up too much of your day. BOOKING ESSENTIAL. £7

Look forward to seeing you all out there on the trails!
Many thanks,
Elaine
