Nordic Walks week commencing 12th December, 2016

Hello Walkers,
Some great walks this week and good speeds despite the almost tropical weather! Bring back the frosty days please Nordic Gods! Better still, lets have a massive dumping of snow so that no one can go to work and they can all come walking with Nordic Poles and have fun instead! Yay!

A really BIG THANK YOU to all my Cranfield Walkers for coming together last Thursday to create a masterpiece Christmas Tree for the Festival this weekend. The tree looks just fabulous and the fact so many of you turned out to decorate it was amazing. Some of you hand made some of the decorations which just gave it an extra special touch. Thank you so much.

NEXT WEEKEND – Nordic Lunch Saturday & Santa Stroll Festivities Sunday

So next weekend at 11am is our Santa Stroll Sunday!!!! Yipeeee! If you haven’t registered yet, you can do so by going to the Hub Café at Ampthill Park and getting your Santa suit. You can register on the day too so don’t worry if you can’t get there by next Sunday. Gordon and Rachel will have Registration forms too so grab one from them if you need and then you can pick up your suit on Sunday. Just to let you know the Santa stroll is either a 2k or 5k circuit and flat-ish. There will be lots of fun things going on at the Hub afterwards including carol singing. There is a prize for most festive dog! Bring all the family and friends for a fun time too!

We also have our Nordic Christmas Lunch next weekend on Saturday so really looking forward to that too! Walks will be at the usual time so you can dash home before the meal after your walk if you need or just hang out with me at the Hub until 11:45am when I will begin the long (5 minute) walk to the Pub! Parking is a nightmare in Ampthill on Saturdays, so you may wish to park at the Hub and walk with me.

NORDIC WALKING CLASS COSTS:
All evening classes – £5
Moderate & Gentle Plus – £5 or £4 if you have your own Poles
Moderate Plus & Gentle – £5
Long Distance and Pop Up walks costs dependent on Distance.
Private Sessions: £12.50

SPEED GRADING KEY:

1 = Moderate Plus (for the faster Nordic Walker, optional Hill running)

2 = Moderate (yet challenging)

3 = Gentle Plus (smidge slower than Moderate yet invigorating)

4 = Gentle (marginally slower than G+ class but energizing)

5 = HIT Nordic (Nothing but Hills. Tough and exhilarating!)
