Nordic Walking week commencing 19th March, 2018
A mixed bag of weather last week meant we had no idea what to wear! Layering is the best bet so keep this in mind this coming week as we have some chilly temperatures to tend with. After about five minutes into the walk we warm up anyway which explains some great speeds in the cold conditions! There’s always something positive about Nordic Walking! Yay!
Our Caldecott Lake walk was a real treat last week and one we will have to do again. Thanks to all who ventured out for this one. Also thanks to all the walkers who braved the really cold, windy and snowy conditions on Saturday. You are legends! Our St Paddy’s Day walk was cut a little short as the warmth of The Albion pub was just too tempting as we passed by! The quiet of the pub was soon filled with songs and laughter as we did St Paddy proud! Thanks guys.
MONTE’S TANDOORI SOCIAL – Thursday April 5th
As our last attempt at our Monte’s Social was postponed due to snow, we will now have it on Thursday April 5th at 7pm. If you could let me know by Monday the 2nd April if you are interested in going, that would be fab. Thanks. FYI, at Monte’s you bring your own drinks.

I will need to know by the end of this week if you are interested in these walks so I can plan transport and accommodation where needed:
12th May – Goodwood 10K Charity walk (All grade of walkers)
20th May – Monsal Trail, Derbyshire (Moderate walkers)
11 – 14th Sept – Snowdonia, Wales (Moderate walkers)
LOCAL LONGER DISTANCE WALKS
We will of course, be doing many local longer distance walks too so you can challenge yourselves and see the beautiful trails we have on our doorstep. We have the Greensand Country Festival at the end of May where Walk2Fitness are doing 5 walks for the event throughout the week. Woohoo!
NORDIC WALKING CLASS COSTS:
All evening classes – £5
Moderate – £5 or £4 if you have your own Poles
Striders & Gentle – £5
Super G – £10
Long Distance and Pop Up walks costs dependent on Distance.
Private Sessions: £12.50 – £15
SPEED GRADING KEY:
1 = Striders (for the faster Nordic Walker, optional Hill running)
2 = HIT Nordic (High Intensity Training, Tough and exhilarating!)
3 = Moderate (2 Speeds to choose from)
4 = Gentle Plus (a smidge slower than Mod 2)
5 = Gentle (slow, steady, energizing)
6 = Super G (Very slow so extra care can be taken)
